The café is the heart in our hotel. Meant to be a meetingplace between generations in celebration of life, food and drinks. Our concept regarding food is a fusion kitchen with local base mixed with the rest of the world! Our nice relaxed atmosphere is wellknown for the visitors! Our mission is to make a countryside a bit different lifestyle mixed with urban atmosphere and a touch of the rest of the world.
HISTORY We started the café 26th of nov 1999 ( over 7 years ago) and basically wanted a space to unfold our creative sides of ourselves and at the same time make the difference to be able to stay in the countryside with something more than the traditional way of life. After 1 year Fugl Fønix was nationally known for kickstarting something new, a small revolution of the norwegian countryside. We bought the hotel as a result of our small sucsess, blinded our eyes and jumped! The resident artist Jan Terje Rafdal got his own atelier/studio in the 2nd floor and expanded withartgallery troughout the hotel. There is art everywhere! The kitchen was turned upside down by chef Carina Vevang with a crossover menue blowing the hair of our visitors and locals. Names of dishes where laughed out loud as " The chef rocks a wok" and coffes as "Coffe Annan" and other crative names on the menue. The norwegian countryside was never to be the same again. Music and events is the passion of the entrepeneurs behind the consept. After 7 years with unknown up and coming bands as well as nationally/internationally wellknown bands, Fugl Fønix`ve gotten a good reputation as venue. All from 22 pistepirrko, Ralph Myerz & the Jack Herren Band, Thomas Dybdahl, Wunderkammer, D`Sound, Briskeby, Dharma (+ ca 100 other bands ) best regards - manager Audun Stene |
