BICYCLING IN ETNE

We offer bicycles from the hotel at daily basis rent with or without guide. Group orders and guide included requires an order in advance (7 days) The bikes can be rented from the reception 07.00-20.00 (mon-fri) and 08.00-20.00 (sat-sun).

MOUNTAIN HIKES/WALKS

Etne has one of norways best terrain/landscape areas for mountain walks. Etne is has a historical cultural landscape with lots of traces from the birth of Norway when the vikings ruled in Norway. There is lots of  hidden gems everywhere, like small waterfalls, rivers and lakes. There is also a national park in the area, Folgefonna - a glacier on top of the Etne mountains.

WILDERNESS CAMP IN SKÅNEVIK

Skånevik Nature Experience is a tourist oriented activity company founed by Mr Langhelle. It offers something innovative and new in wilderness activities. He has built a camp above Skånevik center/ up in the hillside with a fantastic view over Skånevik Fjord/Fjellberg Island. The camp is easy accessible. The camp has a huge warm Lavo with wooden floors with benches to sit on. There are also an outdoor steambath and wc facilities. There is a road goes almost all the way to the camp.You can be transported or take a nice stroll from the center of Skånevik. Ask the manager/reception at our hotel for more info about these activities.

SALMON FISHING

Etne Salmon is an organisation which takes care of the great salmon in Etne River. Gerd and Nick Jacobsen runs Etne Camping cooperate with the hotel regarding the sales of fishing packages. Every year people from all over the world comes to Etne to try their fishingluck. Fly fishing is the most popular way of fishing. The hotel provides accomodation, food & beverages for the guests fishing.

HUNTING PACKAGES

Please dont hesitate to contact us for offers for dear hunting with professional guide. The hunting terrain  in Etne and Skånevik is excellent. You will ofcourse need license to go hunting in Norway. Please contact for details about these packages that are available for individuals/companies.

ART EXPERIENCES

The resident artist, Jan Terje Rafdal, has his atelier 20 meters from the hotel. He invites groups for workshops and demonstrations or just a guided tour of the gallery in the hotel. Jan Terje is a well known artist in the region and has his education from Bath, England. This summer he will work on huge scale paintings together with UK artist jermy Gardiner . ETNEMARKNADEN 

Takes place 06 - 09 aug 09 is The yearly marketplace on the menue. Sales, conserts, shows and a lot of fun. Have a look at www.etnemarknaden.no for more info.

SOUND STUDIO

One of the owners of the hotel, Stig Morten Sørheim is a sound engineer for different bands in Norway. He´s involved with a huge studioproject - offering studiofacilities to bands from Norway and Europe. The plan is to have bands come up to Norway from f.ex London - recording in studio, do a concert in the hotel - and then pre book a small tour in Haugesund, Stavanger and Bergen to get the most out of it.
