LUNCH IN ETNE
(mod rate/inexpensive) The only reliable place to eat in the area, offering ciabatta
sandwiches,a variety of soups, spicy noodles with beef and the like. Make sure to
leaveenough room for one of the luscious desserts, which are created on the chefs
whim, accompanied by an espresso or a fruit shake. On Fri, an all-you-can-eat buffet is awailable, and as we went to press plans were underway to open summer café on the beach

DINNER AND SLEEPING IN ETNE
(moderate) A group of young men operate this unique ”artists” hotel providing an
urban oasis in the middle of the nature. The guest rooms are modern and minimal,
withunique, colourful touches and original art that is refreshingly good as well as
easy on the eye. There is also an apartment/suite for long stays. The inviting and
filling breakfast goes beyond the routine, and the friendly young staff are happy to
advise you on somegreat outings in the area. As far as dinner concerned, you need to further either, in the evenings, the lunch spot turns into a hip modern restaurant
with an imaginative cross-over menue that changes with the seasons, featuring fresh local products. It´s so good that many people drive here from Haugesund for a night out. Whether you choose fish, fowl or meat, make sure you accompany them with a side order of Pommes Fønix – chips with attitude! The wine list is reasonably priced for Norway and covers a range og regions.After dinner you can have a nightcap in the bar, where concerts sometimes are held. BICYCLING IN ETNE

We offer bicycles from the hotel at daily basis rent with or without guide. Grouporders and guide included requires an order on forehand (7 days) The bikes can be rented from the reception 07.00-20.00 (mon-fri) and 08.00-20.00 (sat-sun).

MOUNTAINHIKES/WALKS

Etne has one of norways best terrain/landscape areas for mountain walks. Etne is has a historical cultural landscape with lots of traces from the birth of Norway when the vikings ruled in Norway . There is lots of hidden gems everywhere, like small waterfalls, rivers and lakes. There is also a national park, Folgefonna - a glacier on top of Etne mountains.

WILDERNESS CAMP IN SKÅNEVIK

Skånevik Nature Experience is a tourist oriented activity company founed by Mr Langhelle. They offer something innovativeand new in wilderness activities. They have built a camp above Skånevik center/ up in the hillside with a fantastic view over Skånevik Fjord/Fjellberg Island. The camp is easy accessable. The camp contains a huge warm Lavo with wooden floors with benches to sit on. There is also an outdoor steambath and wc facilities. There is a road almost all up to the camp, and You can be transported or take a nice stroll from the center of Skånevik. Ask the manager/reception at our hotel for more info about these activities.

SALMONFISHING

Etne Salmon is an organisation which take care of the great salmon in Etne River . Gerd and Nick Jacobsen runs Etne Camping and are the main cooperator with the hotel regarding sales of fishing packages. Every year people from all over the world comes to Etne to try their luch with a fishing rod. Fly fishing is the most popular way of fishing. The hotel provides accomodation, food & beverages for the guests fishing.

ART EXPERIENCES

The recident artist, Jan Terje Rafdal has his atelier in second fllor of the hotel. He invites groups for workshops and demonstrations or just a guided tour in the gallery in the hotel. Jan Terje is a wellknown artist in the region with education from Bath, England . This summer he will work together with UK artist jermy Gardiner on huge scale paintings. FØNIX FESTIVAL

In june is the yearly festival Fønix on the menue. Fugl Fønix is wellknown for beeing a venue for up and coming bands in Norway as well as international artists - giving both the audience and the bands fantastic experiences. Program TBA.

ABC SOUND STUDIO

One of the owners of the hotel, Stig Morten Sørheim is a soundengineer for different bands in Norway . He´s involved with a few others in a huge studioproject - offering studio to bands from Norway and Europe . The plan is to have bands coming up to Norway from f.ex London - recording in studio, do a concert in the hotel - and then pre book a small tour in haugesund, Stavanger and Bergen to get the most out of it.
